Its been a hectic week. But its the weekend and I get to veg out on the couch for a few hours after which I’ll be hitting the books. It seems like I am constantly reading. It gets exhausting but when I remember how little I know, I’m motivated to continue reading. It doesn’t help that I’m a slow reader either but who’s complaining? At least I can read.
The question I’m pondering today as I watch the princess diaries is (drum roll please)…. Does doing more than one thing at a time help or hurt you in the long run?
I ask because I often find myself juggling 4 or 5 different things at a time during the weekday and its dawning on me that I only end up completing all 4 or 5 things half way. Like right now, I’m researching PhD programs, studying for the GRE, working on my personal statement, putting two powerpoint presentations together, and yes… watching the princess diaries. All while I feel like I should really be taking a nap (at 10:45am)…..and of course now my brain is telling me I’m hungry.
At the end of the day, I’m sure my personal statement will not be complete, I wont be ready for the GRE, I still won’t have found my perfect school and my presentations will not be completed. So I guess to answer my question, multi-tasking is somewhat of a time waster… sometimes.
Well, I’m off to get a beauty nap.
